Brits Warned to Stay Away From Italy Due to Political Demonstrations Over Israel & Palestine Conflict
According to a press release, authorities in Italy have enhanced their security measures around Jewish community sites following the conflict that began earlier this week between Palestine and Israel, AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports.
The news agency, Anadolu Agency, previously reported that hundreds of people took to the streets of Firenze, gathering in Piazza della Republica, to protest against an Israeli attack on a hospital in Gaza and attacks on Palestinian territories.
Around 471 people have been killed and another 342 been injured in Gaza due to an Israeli airstrike that targeted Al-Ahli Baptist Hospital, the Gaza Health Ministry said last week, while Israeli authorities have denied the responsibility.
Since the conflict began on October 7, at least 3,478 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli attacks, while more than 1,400 Israelis have been killed since the start of Operation Swords of Iron, which is a counteraction of the Hamas’ Operation Al-Aqsa Flood – a multi-pronged surprise attack that included a barrage of rocket launches into Israel by land, sea, and air.
Hamas organisation said that the incursion was in retaliation for the storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the growing violence of Israelis against Palestinians.

In general, Italy is a popular destination for Brits, as over four million Brits alone chose this European country to spend their holidays. It is expected that Italy will become a top destination for Brits in the upcoming years, competing alongside Spain and Portugal, which are the most visited by this nationality,
Also this week, Jet2 airline issued advice for people travelling to Italy today due to industrial action with disruption expected to trains, flights, and local transport services. It said flights are scheduled to go ahead as planned, but it would keep customers informed of any chances.
