France to Begin Processing Visa Applications at Bangalore Consulate in 2026

France will expand its diplomatic services in India by allowing visa applications to be processed at its Bangalore Consulate starting in 2026. Karnataka’s Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar announced this following a meeting with the new French Consul in Bangalore, Marc Lamy. Although the French Consulate General in Bangalore was inaugurated in 2024, it has not yet started issuing visas—a service set to be introduced within the next two years.
