Free Polish language courses for foreigners in Bydgoszcz and Toruń
The Emic Foundation provides foreigners living in the cities of Bydgoszcz and Toruń with legal advice, psychological assistance and Polish language courses. It aims to assist migrants and refugees to integrate and achieve financial independence into the society. A new free Polish language course for foreigners from outside the European Union is now being introduced by the Foundation.
The registration for the Polish language course organized by the EMIC Foundation has already begun and will remain open until 24 January 2021. The classes can be taken by foreigners who:
- Are non-EU citizens
- Live in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region of Poland (the classes will be held in Toruń and Bydgoszcz)
- Have registered for the “You have the right to know!” project (“Masz Prawo Wiedzieć!”)
- Have no financial means to access paid language courses
Note that registration priority will be given to foreigners who have recently arrived in Poland (within the last 6 months), do not speak any Polish and are in the greatest need of support. The summer semester starts in Februrary and ends in May. For more information about the course and the "You have the right to know!" project, visit the project's website, where you will also find the registration form.
Those foreigners who have trouble finding a job in the Kuyavian-Pomeranian region, may also be interested in a different project run by the Emic Foundation, called “Work in Poland!” ("Pracuj w Polsce!"). As part of the project, people who are in a difficult financial situation may be provided with necessary help such as free career counselling services, psychological support, language support or legal advice, and take part in co-funded vocational training programmes. More details about the project (in three language versions) can be found on the Emic Foundation website. The deadline for registration is 24 January 2021.
