Nearly 4 Million Passengers Flew Through Amsterdam Schiphol Airport This November
Such data also show that in November last year, this number was 3.1 million, in November 2020 0.9 million, and 5.3 million passengers in November 2019, AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports.
In addition, the number of commercial flights to and from Schiphol in November was 30,349, which is an increase of seven per cent compared to 2022, +104 per cent compared to 2020 and -20 per cent compared to 2019.
As for the number of cargo flights, there were 1,416 such flights, which, compared to the previous year, marked a decrease of -27 per cent, -41 per cent compared to 2020, and an increase of +20 per cent compared to 2019.
During November 2022, the transported tonnage decreased by 17 per cent compared to 2021, -18 per cent compared to 2020, and -13 per cent compared to 2019.
Further data from Schiphol revealed that out of a total of four million passengers in November, 1.4 million passengers had a transfer at the airport.
Meanwhile, the number of passengers with one transfer was 700,000 unique passengers, who are counted twice in the international counting method, which means as an arriving passenger and as a departing passenger.
Based on this data, nearly 2.7 million passengers travelled from or to a destination within Europe and around 1.3 million outside Europe.
In November of this year, the number of flights with all loads decreased from 1,928 to 1,416, compared to the same month last year. However, the total volume transported was 119,074 tonnes in November 2022.
Taking into account that in recent months travellers had missed many flights due to the waiting time due to the lack of security personnel, in October, Schiphol Airport decided to extend the compensation for the loss of these flights.
In this regard, Amsterdam Airport explained that the compensation scheme would be valid for the period from August 12 to October 31.
As a result, travellers who incurred expenses during this period can submit a compensation claim at the airport until November 30.
