Polish Consulates in Ukraine to Issue Work Visas From May 4
Poland’s Consulates in Ukraine have decided to resume issuing work visas, the Polish Embassy in Ukraine reports, which consulates have been closed up until now as a part of efforts to curb the spread of Coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
The Polish consulate stressed that applicants with documents for agricultural, horticultural work purposes, as well as international transportation, are the first ones to be accepted,
“Initially, only documents will be accepted for the purpose of obtaining visas for agricultural and horticultural work, as well as international transportation,” the embassy said.
According to the report, the abovementioned categories for work visa application will be eligible to register for the submission of visa documents in the e-konsulat electronic system.
Ukraine began receiving Polish work visas by post on Wednesday, April 29, with the agreement reached by the consular services of Poland in Ukraine.
Since March 16, Poland’s consular institutions in Ukraine temporarily suspended their work due to the Coronavirus outbreak.
Poland’s Embassy in Kyiv and Polish consulates general in Lutsk, Lviv, Vinnytsia, Odesa and Kharkiv are active in Ukraine.
Amid Coronavirus pandemic, the Secretary of Management on Affairs of Foreigners Jakub Dudziak announced that Poland decided to extend visas for foreign citizens who hold work permits, national visas, or a temporary residence permit, for 30 days after the end of the emergency state.
Foreign citizens are allowed to file applications for the legalization of their stay, as well as to extend the validity of their work permits for seasonal workers.
Also, the Office for Foreigners stressed that foreign citizens in Poland could confirm the extending of their legal stay by the visa stamp on their passport or getting a new card permit.
Due to the deadly virus, in March, Poland’s authorities introduced temporary internal border controls with Germany, Lithuania, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
