Applicants From African Countries Were More Likely to Have Their Visa Rejected by the Netherlands
Applicants that received the highest number of rejected visas by Dutch authorities in 2024 include India with 14,569 rejected applications, Morocco (12,398), Türkiye (11,792), Ghana (8,394), and Egypt (7,174).
However, comparing the number of rejected applications with the number of applications filed overall, the Netherlands was likely to reject visa applications filed by the following nationalities:
- Senegal – applicants were rejected 81.05 per cent of the applications, which is 4,478 out of 5,525 applications that were filed.
- Algeria – 63.4 per cent of 4,388 applications that Algerians filed were rejected.
- Mali – applicants filed 4,275 visa requests – 2,600 or 60.8 per cent of which were rejected.
- Ghana – the authorities rejected 8,394 applications, 58 per cent of the 14,466 applications filed.
- Uganda – applicants were rejected, 1,662 or 49.97 per cent of the 3,326 applications filed.
