VISA Czech Republic Tourist

The Czech Republic situated in Central Europe can be a tourist’s delight because of its history and culture. If you want to visit the Czech Republic, you must have a tourist visa. Since the country is part of the Schengen area agreement, you can apply for a Schengen visa to visit the country. This visa is valid for 90 days.

Original passport with at least three months validity

Completed application form
Recent passport-size photo
Confirmed onward and return ticket
Itinerary during your period of stay in the country
Proof of having finances to support your travel and stay in the country
Recent statement from your bank
Proof of income tax returns
Proof of having a valid medical insurance

The Czech Republic Visa Application Requirements

Depending on the purpose of your travel to the Czech Republic, there are different types of visas that will apply to the occassion.

Whether you are planning to go on a visit, study or work and reside in the Czech Republic permanently, you will have to apply for a different Schengen Visa, accordingly.
You can apply for the Czech Republic Schengen Visa since 2007 when the Czech Republic as an EU Member State also became a member state of the Schengen Area.

Stat: As per 2017, the Czech Republic has issued a total of 594,225 uniform Schengen visas from 623,255 visa applications received at consulates and embassies of the Czech Republic around the world. The Visa rejection rate was 4.48%.

Schengen Visa Fees

When applying for a Schengen visa there is a non-refundable mandatory visa fee every applicant must pay.

The Schengen visa costs vary depending on the type of visa and age of the applicant as well as some other exceptions stated below in the text. The Schengen visa fee can be paid in the designated consulate/embassy via cash, debit or credit card. However, some consulates may not allow you to pay by credit card.

Despite of the fact that these fees are static and unchangeable until the Schengen members decide otherwise altogether, there are some categories exempt from paying this amount.

The visa fees may also be waived for participants aged 25 years or less in seminars, conferences, sports, cultural or educational events, organized by non-profit organizations. The decision will be made case by case according to the relevance of the event.

Again, in case the visa is denied there is no refund of the money paid.
