

Ireland Received Over 64,000 Visa Applications in First Half of 2022
According to the Immigration Service of Ireland, in the first half of 2022, the country received a total of 64,302 visa applications, with nationals of India, Türkiye, and Nigeria, submitting the highest number, AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports.
Data shows that from January to June, nationals of India submitted a total of 24,277 visa applications, those from Türkiye submitted 4,785 visa applications, and those from Nigeria submitted 4,112 visa applications.
Even though the number of visa applications submitted by the three countries mentioned above was high, it has been revealed that the relevant Irish authorities made a decision on the majority of them.
The Immigration Service disclosed that in the first half of 2022, they granted a total of 48,321 visas. Of the total, 20,736 visas were granted to nationals of India, 1,828 visas to nationals of Nigeria, and 2,812 visas to nationals of Türkiye.
Apart from nationals of the three countries mentioned above, nationals of Pakistan, China, Russia, the Philippines, Sudan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Zimbabwe, Thailand, Mongolia, Colombia, Iran, Serbia, Vietnam, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Kenya are also part of the list of countries that were issued the highest number of visas in the first half of 2022.
Regarding the visa refusals, data provided by the Immigration Service show that of the total number of 64,302 applications made in the first six months of 2022, the Irish authorities refused around 5,825 visas.
The Irish Immigration Service has also shared data regarding long-term residency applications, citizenship certificates, and family reunification applications, among others.
According to the Immigration Service of Ireland, the country received a total of 209 long-term residency applications in the first half of 2022. Nationals of India (30), Egypt (26), and China (25) submitted the highest number of long-term residency applications. Nonetheless, of the total number of applications, Ireland granted long-term residency only to around 77 foreigners.
As for citizenship certificates, the authorities said that they issued a total of 7,039 citizenship certificates in the first six months of 2022, with nationals of the United Kingdom (661), India (552), and Pakistan (524), receiving the highest number.
