Number of Indians Opting For Spain Schengen Visas Increases
Indian travel agents have revealed that the number of Indian citizens applying for a Schengen visa through Spain has been increasing significantly in recent months, AtoZSerwisPlus.com reports.
According to The Times of India, the number of Indians applying for a Spain Schengen visa has increased since Spain is processing applications faster than other countries. Currently, applicants are receiving their Spain visas in around five days.
Commenting on the matter, a travel operator said that the Spanish route for a Schengen visa is currently the quickest option available for tourists from India planning to travel to Europe.
The operator suggested that Indian tourists are applying for a Spain Schengen visa even if they had no plans on visiting Spain just because the latter is issuing visas faster than other countries.
This phenomenon is known as ‘visa shopping’ and is widely spread. However, travellers must not forget that visa shopping is considered illegal by the Schengen countries. Therefore, it is advised that travellers do not practice visa shopping.
Additionally, travellers who hold an unused visa and who want to use it to enter another country may do so, but they must be aware that there is always a possibility that they might be denied entry into the Schengen Area.
Indians who wish to apply for a Spain Schengen visa can do so by completing the Spanish visa application form and providing all the necessary documents to the Spanish embassy or consulate. All applicants must provide two passport photos and a valid passport, which must have two blank pages, the validity of at least three more months beyond the date the applicant plans on leaving Spain, and must not be older than ten years.
Additionally, applicants must submit copies of all passport pages, their previous visas, and copies of other valid or expired passports.
Those applying for a Spain Schengen visa must also purchase travel health insurance, a round-trip flight itinerary, proof of accommodation, proof of sufficient financial means, and a cover letter.
Depending on the employment status of the applicants, additional documents must be submitted too.
